Customers started lining up on Tuesday morning to see what this new eatery had to offer.
Chicken Salad Chick is in East Peoria's Levee District.
The menu consist of egg salad, cheese, salads, soups, and more than 10 kinds of chicken salad.
The owner of the franchise said it's different than his other restaurants but he felt success from the first bite.
"I was out in Dallas about a year ago for some training and me and my manager went to go have lunch and we both looked at each other and she looked at me and said, hey boss you need to bring this to Peoria," said owner, Yonas Hagos.
The owner is also hoping to open a location in the twin cities before adding another Peoria location.
