Pack a picnic, gather the family and get ready to enjoy plenty of activities outdoors in the sun at Potato Hill Farm and Trails, at 11904 Potato Hill Road in Boonville.
Admission is free.
Potato Hill Farm and Trails, a part of the Black River Environmental Improvement Association (BREIA) organization, is open every day this summer from dawn to dark. BREIA was formed as a nonprofit corporation with the mission to develop a park system in which the public may enjoy healthful, outdoor recreation in a quiet, safe and natural environment.
The world-class facility has been a popular destination for school trips and outings. Now the facility is open for the public to enjoy, featuring five miles of groomed trails ideal for running, walking, hiking, and biking (bring your helmet). All trails are open (plus baby carriage-friendly and wheelchair accessible), making it easy for social distancing.
Plan to spend time with all the farm animals on site including Alpacas, Alpine goats, black Welsh sheep, donkeys, and Percheron horses plus beautifully wooded areas perfect for relaxing.
A picnic pavilion is available along with several picnic areas throughout the campus.
Leave your pets at home. Plan to spend all day outdoors and dress for the weather.
It is a wonderful space for multi-generation family outings with room for kids to run and elders to safely walk the trails.
