The Salad Chop has officially opened at 407 Central Avenue, and offered up healthy build your own salad bowl options for pick up, delivery and dine-in. Follow the concept on Instagram.

There are now many options for local diners when looking for something healthy in Sunshine City. The newest addition to the sprawl is The Salad Chop. Located at 407 Central Avenue Suite 12, The Salad Chop serves up quick and nifty salad bowls or hungry diners downtown.

You can pick 4 toppings that range from celery, carrots and beets, to tortilla strips, black beans, and peppers. Available proteins include spicy tuna poke, fried chicken breast, and grilled shrimp.

You can now order for delivery on DoorDash and UberEats.

The Salad Chop isn’t alone.

Greenstock elevates your typical salad bar

Just down the block at 449 Central Avenue is Greenstock. This concept was opened by David and Erica Benstock, the brilliant culinary mind behind Il Ritorno and St. Pete Meat and Provisions, along with the prolific dream makers Pete Boyd, owner of Boyd Construction, and Brooke Boyd, owner of Hype Group.

Here are a few of my personal favorite signature bowls on the menu:

Sweet Tooth – Baby arugula, spinach, strawberries, feta, apples, feta/goat cheese, sunflower seeds, tomato, figs, balsamic vinaigrette.

Power Greens – Pea shoots, baby kale, sweet potato, beets, cabbage, quinoa, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, feta, balsamic vinaigrette.

Spicy Miso Crunch – Baby arugula, greenstock blend, carrots, cucumber, edamame, shaved brussels, crispy wasabi peas, miso ginger.

Keep up with all of Greenstock’s tasty offerings on Instagram.

TOSS brings healthy greens to the 600 Block

The 600 Block of Central Avenue is already a food lover’s paradise. Just around the corner from the popular vegan hub Cider Press is TOSS Salads. The build your own salad bar opened in early 2020 and offers bowls starting as low as $6.99.

So, what can you choose from on the TOSS menu?

The Florida Gentleman features grilled chicken, shredded carrots, red cabbage and drizzled with BBQ sauce.

Greek, Caesar, and Thai salads are also featured the menu.

A behemoth mix, called the big daddy, features tortilla strips, chicken, banana and red peppers, grilled steak, jalapeño, corn, and fried onions.

Naked Farmer crafts protein-packed bowls

Another build your own bowl concept, The Naked Farmer, made its debut in the ‘Burg amid the pandemic. The Naked Farmer is far more than just a salad bar. The Local Farmer Bowl, loaded with rice, sweet potato, chicken, and broccoli, is one of my top go-to meals in all of St. Petersburg. The restaurants special Florida Citrus Cake also blew my taste buds away.

The ingredients used in all of Naked Farmer’s signature bowls are harvested fresh right here in the Sunshine State. A sister concept opened at Sparkman Wharf in Tampa shortly after its St. Pete debut.

You can visit The Naked Farmer at 200 Central Avenue, right next to Craft Kafe.
